Adjustable Round Pole Guard for Purple Martin Racks
Help protect your Purple Martin colony from climbing predators with the Adjustable Round Pole Guard. Designed for round poles, this aluminum guard helps deter snakes, raccoons, cats, squirrels, opossums, and other climbing predators when mounted at the proper height.
Fits a Wide Range of Round Poles
The adjustable top plate allows this predator guard to fit round poles with an outside diameter from 3/4 inch up to 2-3/8 inches. It can be used on many traditional Purple Martin house poles, including Trio, Duracraft, Heath, and our 4-Unit Gourd Rack.
Mount Below the Rope Winder
The Adjustable Round Pole Guard should be installed below the rope winder. For best results, raise the rope winder to at least 48 inches and position the guard directly below it.
The higher the guard can be mounted while still allowing you to reach the housing comfortably, the more effective it can be against climbing predators.
No Need to Remove the Pole for Installation
The guard slips around the existing pole, so the pole and housing do not need to be taken down for installation.

Snake Sniffer Holes
The top plate includes snake sniffer holes. As a snake climbs the pole and enters the guard, the openings can help confuse and redirect it rather than allowing it to continue upward toward the housing.
