Was skeptical whether the bluebirds would go in this house, but after a little "coaching" i.e. leaving a trail of worms into the house on the floor of our deck, they learned to go inside and feed. Don't know if we'll hang it or not as the bluebirds, and carolina wrens seem to like it on the deck floor. Well made and attractive.

I have bluebirds!
This feeder works and the bluebirds do like it. Since I added the pole, the pesky sparrows won’t enter, but the bluebirds still will. The only downside is it is dark enough inside that it is difficult to identify which variety of bird is there.

Bluebird lover
I purchased this feeder and my bluebirds and I just love it!! The sparrows are too lazy to try to get in, and the starlings have been defeated. I wish the dish were a bit heavier and deeper, but I'll figure out a way to add some weight to it. Added depth would be nice for more dried mealies. It is now easy to find on the website, too.

Keeps Out Bigger Birds
I heard about this feeder in a Facebook group. It does keep out the jays. The bluebirds didn't take long to learn how to use it. I gave it 4 stars because it didn't come with instructions on how to remove one bar to create a perch and open the feeder up to train the birds to use it. Also, I have this on a raised deck and it's windy so it rocks and I occasionally find the metal dish somewhere in the yard. It would be nice if the dish fit a bit snugger and the 'perch' were a bit rougher to provide stability for the birds. Also the eyehole bolt allows the feeder to rock a bit. This feeder would be fine at a less windy site.

bluebirds love it
We bought this feeder after having the bluebirds outcompeted for their food by the Starlings. Thought it would take a few days for the bluebirds to accept the new feeder but they figured it out in an hour. I think it did help that we had it on one half of a shepard's crook feeder pole so they could land on the other half of the crook to check things out as they became familiar with the feeder. Bluebirds, titmice, chickadees all love it. Starlings are frustrated.
