Replacement Heavy-Duty Aluminum Ground Stake for 3-Inch Square Pole Systems
Need to move your gourd rack or T-14 pole to a new location? Our Replacement Heavy-Duty Aluminum Ground Stake for 3-inch square pole systems is designed for exactly that purpose. Because the original ground stake supplied with a complete gourd rack or compatible T-14 pole system is installed permanently in the ground, relocating the system usually means leaving that stake behind and installing a new one at the new location.
Designed for Replacement or Relocation
The most common reason to purchase a replacement ground stake is simple: you want to move your pole system.
In most cases, replacement is not needed because the original stake has worn out — it is needed because the original stake has already been permanently installed and you want to relocate the gourd rack or T-14 pole.
Important — One Ground Stake Is Already Included with Complete Systems
If you are purchasing a complete compatible gourd rack system or complete T-14 aluminum pole system, you do not need to purchase this ground stake separately. A heavy-duty aluminum ground stake is already included.
This product is intended primarily for replacement or relocation.
Proper Ground Stake Installation
The heavy-duty aluminum ground stake measures 48 inches overall and is designed to be installed with:
- 24 inches below ground
- 24 inches above ground
The exposed 24-inch section provides the proper support and alignment for the compatible 3-inch square aluminum pole that slides over the ground stake.
For best results, the installation hole should be dug straight rather than flared wider at the top. A properly shaped hole helps prevent the concrete base from shifting or working upward over time.
Ground Stake or Ground Sleeve?
A replacement ground stake may be installed directly into the ground with concrete, just like the original stake supplied with your system.
For some compatible 3-inch pole systems, a 3-inch Ground Sleeve can be used when you want the option of removing the ground stake later.
Important: We do not recommend using a ground sleeve with the Gemini Gourd Rack or Super System 36. Because these larger systems carry more weight and surface area at the top of the pole, a ground sleeve installation can allow more noticeable movement or swaying. For these two systems, we recommend installing the heavy-duty ground stake directly in the ground.
