Pole: Upon arrival of your new gourd rack, use any good quality car paste wax and wax your pole. Waxing can aid in the slipperiness, as well as protecting the aluminum pole from the weather elements
Assembly Tips
Spray some WD40 on the splice piece (connects the upper section of the pole to the lower section) before inserting into the bottom pole section.
Tools Needed for Assembly
Open end and box wrenches 1/2", 5/16" most common
Speed Square
Flat head and Phillips head screw drivers
Level
Tape Measure
Post hole digger, shovel
Cordless drill and bit 1/4" and 3/8" most common
3 in 1 Household Oil
When tightening bolts and nuts, tighten on the nut side and remember: righty-tighty, lefty-loosey
Yearly Maintenance
Cable: Check for cable splitting or any cut marks on your cable. Note: stainless cable when properly cared for should last many, many years. To extend the life of your cable use a wire lubricant such as our GetSome.
End of Season
Houses: Remove nest trays and remove all old nesting material. If you want you can wash a poly wood house using any car wash soap and rinse thoroughly. You wan wipe out with a damp cloth, the PVC and wood nest trays. Once your house is dried inside and out, insert your nest trays into the compartments, backwards. The rear of the tray will block the entrance from unwanted critters (like squirrels) from using the compartments. We recommend leaving the houses on the pole, but lower the housing unit during the off season. We offer a Canvas Cover for extra protection during the winter months. Please note that if you modified the T-14 with the Troyer Tunnels the Canvas Cover will not fit.
