Bed & Breakfast Platform Feeding Station
An elevated feeding and nesting-material station designed especially for Purple Martins.
Once your Purple Martins learn to accept supplemental food, the Bed & Breakfast provides a convenient elevated feeding platform where food can be offered during periods of cold, wet, or windy weather when flying insects are difficult for martins to find.
The four removable aluminum trays can also be used to offer nesting materials such as mud and pine needles, making the Bed & Breakfast useful throughout the nesting season.

What Can You Feed Purple Martins?
Purple Martins can be trained to accept supplemental foods including crickets, mealworms, and scrambled eggs. Crickets are generally the easiest food to use when first teaching martins to accept supplemental feeding. Once they learn to take food from the feeding station, scrambled eggs can provide an economical supplemental food during extended periods of poor weather.
Never offer frozen food directly to your martins. Frozen crickets should be completely thawed before feeding.

More Than a Feeding Station
The trays can also be used to offer mud and pine needles during the nesting season. Martins can land on the elevated station, collect the nesting materials they need, and carry them directly back to their housing.
Raise & Lower from the Ground
The tray assembly raises and lowers vertically using the included rope and pulley system, making it easy to refill food, add nesting materials, and clean the trays without taking down the pole.
