Prothonotary Warbler Habitat
Prothonotary Warblers prefer nesting areas near stagnant or slow-moving water, including swamps, ponds, streams, and backyard ponds. They also favor locations with overhead canopy cover.
Prothonotary Warblers generally tolerate careful nest checks, but inspections should be limited as the young mature. Once nestlings are approximately nine days old, avoid unnecessary disturbance that could cause premature fledging.
