Already have a 3-inch square outside-diameter pole and want to convert your existing Purple Martin housing into a 12-gourd system? The K-12 Gourd Rack Kit allows you to reuse your compatible pole and raising-and-lowering components while replacing your current housing with a K-12 Gourd Rack. Whether you are converting a T-14 setup or another system using a compatible 3-inch square pole, this kit provides the rack components needed to make the change.
A 12-Gourd System with a Simple, Functional Design
The K-12 is built around an aluminum 12-unit hub with nylon glide buttons already installed. Twelve individual stainless-steel horizontal gourd hanging arms extend from the hub, providing a separate hanging position for each gourd. The combination of the aluminum hub and stainless-steel arms creates a straightforward gourd rack design for landlords who want to make use of a 3-inch square pole they already own.
12 Stainless Steel Gourd Hanging Arms
The kit includes 12 stainless-steel horizontal gourd hanging arms, providing space for up to 12 gourds. Stainless-steel hitch pins are also included to secure the gourds onto the arms.
Gourds are not included, allowing you to choose the gourd styles and entrances that best fit your Purple Martin colony.
What's Included
The K-12 Gourd Rack Kit includes the components needed to add the K-12 rack assembly to your compatible 3-inch square outside-diameter pole:

Gourds, pole, and raising/lowering components are not included.
Reuse Your Existing Pole Components
Because this is a conversion kit rather than a complete pole-and-rack system, the landlord supplies and reuses the compatible components already on the system. You will need a 3-inch square outside-diameter pole, ground stake, cable, cable guide, ball top, top perch rods, eyebolt, winch, winch mounting brackets, upper pulley, and safety pins.
Winch Recommendation
The K-12 is raised and lowered using a winch-and-cable system. While you may be able to reuse the compatible winch already installed on your pole, we strongly recommend a brake winch or worm gear winch for the K-12 Gourd Rack. These winch options provide greater control when raising and lowering the rack and are our preferred choices for operating this system.
